“One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”
Psalm 27:4
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild prepares the altar for Communion by setting out the bread and wine and grape juice. When there is a Baptism, it sets out the pitcher of water, candle, napkin and olive oil used in the Baptism. It also works with the Pastor and the Worship and Music Ministry Team and the Flower Ministry to enhance worship at Good Shepherd by changing the paraments on the altar as appropriate for the liturgical season; and decking the worship space with banners and flowers to celebrate Festival Days and commemorate other occasions.

Readers
Read the Scriptures at worship services (usually the Pastor reads the Gospel.)
Communion Assistants
Communion Assistants pour the wine at the traditional service and hold the cups for intinction at the contemporary service.

Acolytes and Crucifers
Crucifers specifically carry the cross into the Nave (the raised front of the worship space) in procession with the pastor at the beginning of the service, and out of the worship space at the end of the service. Acolytes may also be crucifers, and also switch out the trays of cups during Communion as they are emptied. Both acolytes and crucifers light the altar candles during the prelude, and extinguish them after the postlude.
Ushers
Welcome people as they enter church; present first-time visitors with welcome bags; hand out bulletins; seat people if the worship space is full; bring prayer request sheet up to Pastor before prayers; move small tables with cups and grape juice in place for Communion; and help congregants go to the altar in an orderly fashion.

Greeters
When a welcome station is established, greeters will staff it and greet people and hand out welcome bags.
Technical Operators
Videographers: Operate the cameras at each service so worship can be livestreamed.
Power Point Advancers: Advance the song lyrics on the screen at the 11 am service.
