Good Shepherd
Lutheran Church
Sunday School
All Kids
For children age 3-6th grade this class uses Sparkhouse’s Whirl curriculum to study Bible stories with an engaging video, art projects, and games. Most weeks, students break up into primary and upper elementary groups to explore the story; snacks are usually provided. All Kids meets in the first class on the left down the preschool wing. Occasionally, this class also enjoys the playground or church yard. Teachers include Kristian Collins, Deb Kopit, Desiree Mortenson, and Cora Weiland. Parents are welcome to participate alongside their children.
Confirmation
For young people in 7th & 8th grade or others preparing to affirm their baptism with the rite of Confirmation, this is a special period of instruction in the Christian faith as confessed in the teachings of the Lutheran church. It’s also a great time for young people to ask their pastor questions! This class is taught by Pastor Dave and meets in the Community Room.
High School
High school students are invited to gather with Mr. Brian for Bible Study and conversation in the Youth Room just off the Community Room.
Registration
Registration is required for children and youth under 18.
Also, per Good Shepherd’s Child Protection
Policy, students under 18 must be signed in and out by their parents or guardians.
Students in third grade and up may be dismissed on their own if they have a Minor
Release Waiver on file. This form is available in each classroom.
Young(ish) Adults
New! For those in their 20s and 30s(ish), this class is discussion-based, with rotating leadership to give everyone a voice. This group meets in the kitchen. We wrestle with scripture together, often discussing how scripture helps us understand our lives, and how to live as Christians in our complex world. The kitchen can be reached by walking through the Community Room.
Adult Sunday School
This class considers one or more of the lectionary texts for each week. It’s led by a team of teachers and meets in the Fireside Room directly off the narthex. The group considers scripture from both modern and historical context, guided by the teaching team to examine the Word together.
