Operation Christmas Child

The Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child collects shoe boxes– filled with school supplies, hygiene items, fun toys and notes of encouragement- and delivers them to children in need around the world to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way.

Each and every shoe box gift, given in Jesus’ Name, opens doors for children and their families to hear the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ. As a result, churches are growing and communities are transformed.

Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 157 million shoe box gifts to children in more than 160 countries and territories. Last year Good Shepherd collected 83 boxes to send to children worldwide.

November 18th-25th s National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child this year. Samaritan’s Purse will collect the gift-filled shoe boxes at some 5,000 drop-off locations in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

Boxes will be available at Good Shepherd starting October 13th, 2019 in the Narthex, including information on how to pack, what to pack, and the cost. Once you fill the box, return it to the church with $9.00 for shipping. Return boxes by November 17th!

This is one of Good Shepherd’s favorite Christmas projects and we are pleased to continue filling boxes. Thank you so much!
