Mutual Ministry

Mutual ministry is the equipping and supporting of all baptized persons so they can, in turn, carry the gospel into the world. Our pastors are like coaches, who help people discover their spiritual gifts and become empowered to use them in their daily lives.

The mission of the Mutual Ministry Team at Good Shepherd is to encourage, assist, and nurture our pastors in achieving the full potential of their God-given ministries by:
· Praying for our pastors and their families;
· Lifting them up before the people of God at Good Shepherd for their prayers and support;
· Providing a confidential listening ear for our pastors’ concerns;
· Sharing in our pastors’ joys and sorrows and extending loving care to them and to their families in times of crisis;
· Being a sounding-board for our pastors in setting goals;
· Being advocates for our pastors to the congregation in matters of compensation, vacation, continuing education, and other support necessary for them to effectively carry out their ministry;
· Promoting clear and open lines of communication between and among the pastors and the congregation;
· Providing an atmosphere of trust and healing to promote mutual aid, conflict resolution, forgiveness and harmony within the ministry and the congregation as a whole.
